Idiotic New Driver Banned For Speeding After Passing Test.

A fledging driver who was caught doing 125mph less than two weeks after passing his test has been banned from the roads.

Aberdeen man Vern Ross - now 18, but just 17 years old at the time of the incident - was clocked doing the colossal speed on a 70mph stretch of road, just 12 days after passing his test.

The incident took place in October last year on the A90 between Peterhead and Aberdeen, when police in an unmarked car spotted Ross overtaking traffic at high speed - and driving through the white hatched road markings which signal the end of a dual carriageway section.

And when officers stopped Ross, they found he had his two cousins - both teenage girls - in the Peugeot 306 GTI with him.

PC Charles Hogg told Aberdeen Sheriff Court that he had been surprised by the age of the defendant - and his lack of experience.

Sheriff David Hall convicted Ross of dangerous driving, adding that driving so fast and with such limited experience "is an extremely serious matter".

Ross, who had previously denied the charge, was temporarily banned from driving while he waits to hear his sentence.
